Ahsoka Tano wurde als kleines Kind von Jedi-Meister Plo Koon entdeckt und in den Jedi-Orden aufgenommen. Als sie 14 Jahre alt war, verlieh Jedi-Meister Yoda Ahsoka den Rang eines Padawan und sie wurde Partnerin von Anakin Skywalker, einem mächtigen, wenn auch rücksichtslosen Jedi-Ritter. Anakin sträubte sich zunächst gegen die Idee, einen Lehrling zu haben, und ihre ersten Interaktionen waren spielerisch streitsüchtig; er nannte sie „Snips“ wegen ihrer witzigen Erwiderungen, und Ahsoka nannte ihn „Skyguy“. Doch auf dem Schlachtfeld schlossen sie sich zusammen und Anakin erlangte neuen Respekt vor Ahsoka.
