The two new »DC Studios« bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran clean up and want to create a clear demarcation between the old Snyderverse and the new DC Expanded Universe. A whole series of films are affected by this.

A few days ago, Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot was still promoting part 3 of the film series - but as it's being reported now, the film will be scrapped for the time being. There were also creative differences between writer/director Patty Jenkins and DC top guns Gunn and Safran. So it was in an article in the Hollywood Reporter. After »Wonder Woman 1984«, a third part was initially considered certain, even if part 2 was anything but a success and cinematic highlight.

The return of Henry Cavill as Superman in »Man of Steel 2« is said to be off the table, which many Cavill fans shouldn't be happy about. After meager box office results, a sequel to »Black Adam« is by no means guaranteed, even if Dwayne Johnson never tires of claiming the opposite. And for Jason Momoa's character Aquaman, it is also considered likely that after »Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom«, which starts in about one year from now, the plug will be pulled. Jason Momoa though is in talks to play the bounty hunter Lobo!

»The Batman« is not affected by the great wave of restructuring. Matt Reeves seems to still be working on the sequel.

Following the article in the Hollywood Reporter, James Gunn tweeted, “some of it is true, some of it half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not.“. So Patty Jenkins is probably out, but he didn't want to completely rule out a sequel to Wonder Woman. The studio would love to make another Wonder Woman, but the question is whether Gal Gadot will do it without Jenkins.

Gunn also gave Superman a high priority. The future of the Black Adam and Superman sequels remains to be seen - and with Wonder Woman 3 being scrapped for now, Gunn is asking fans to be patient while the transition takes place: “We are giving these characters and the stories the time and attention they deserve and we ourselves still have a lot more questions to ask and answer.”.

So let's stay on the ground for now and wait and see how it all develops in the end at DC ...

Over the weekend, the first GAME OF THRONES OFFICIAL FAN CONVENTION took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Among the invited star guests were Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy) and Jack Gleeson (Joffrey Baratheon) from the original series and Paddy Considine (King Viserys) and Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys) from »House of the Dragon«.

What made the event in faraway LA especially worth mentioning for us was the presence of THREEZERO. The manufacturer's last convention appearances never brought anything new and mostly focused on topics such as »Transformers« and »Ultraman«.

But it goes without saying that the collectibles for the HBO series have to be on display at a »Game of Thrones« convention. And this time, Threezero really managed to surprise us, as they released FOUR new 1/6 scale figures: Daenerys Targaryen from season 7 and as "Khaleesi" from season 2, along with her Dothraki husband Khal Drogo and Ser Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane from season 7. He actually is a fan-requested character who finally gets to face off against his brother Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane (season 7).

We are very pleased that the »Game of Thrones« figure line will be continued. Unfortunately, there were no figures or license announcements for »House of the Dragon« yet, but we think it can only be a matter of time. At the latest at the beginning of season 2, we are counting on that. On that note: Valar Morghulis.

Of corse we have a winter holiday motif for December in the S.P.A.C.E POSTCARD COLLECTION - and it is of course wonderful because it comes from our friend and Gremlins breeder Patrick, aka wonderbunk 😄!

After Blizzard's social media channels had repeatedly put Diablo IV in the spotlight in the last days, we had high hopes that a realease date for the highly anticipated game would come soon. And now, we know it for sure: Blizzard announced June 6th 2023 as official release date during the »Game Awards«!

In mid October we have already covered »Terrifier 2«. Its release was highly acclaimed by horror movie lovers in the US. This was especially due to the massive amount of violence the audience was confronted with. According to some news articles it was even way too much for some viewers.

That was part of the reason we thought an theatrical release in Germany would be almost impossible. But we were wrong: Starting today, some cinemas in Germany will show »Terrifier 2«! A movie with a degree of violence and gore that you can usually only get when you dig deep into some obscure subgenres of extreme horror. And for that kind of entertainment you usually don't visit a cinema 😉.

So if you are interested in some twisted scenes that go way too much, then you should check if you find a movie theater in your area where »Terrifier 2« is currently running. Don't hesitate if you haven't seen part one. We are sure you can follow the story: Clown causes trouble for no reason 😉!

We hope to discover more about the reasons of Art the Clown: Director Damien Leone has stated that he has already conzeptualized part three. So we are looking forward to another attack on good taste in the near future!

The action takes place at Godolkin University, which is operated by Vought International to dedicate itself to training the next generation of superheroes.

Already the one-minute teaser squirts several gallons of blood - exactly how the fans love it! There will also be a number of guest appearances from the original series. The first season is already wrapped up and is scheduled to start next year on Prime Video. An exact date has not yet been announced though.

Let's commit ourselves right away: If the series is only half as good as »The Boys«, it can count on us 😉💪!

It looks pretty good at first, as it does the game justice visually. With Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Joel Miller and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) as Ellie Williams in front of the camera and the authors Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) and game developer Neil Druckmann and the experienced HBO machine behind them, nothing can go wrong. So we're looking forward to what's to come.

Even if the signs are all good and we have nothing to complain about, we still don't dance for joy and we don't really feel like doing another dystopian series yet. Maybe it's because of Covid and the crisis-ridden times we're living in right now, or because it's just shitty weather today...

Did you also wake up tonight because of the roaring trailer thunder? Awesome what Paramount, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm smashed out in the last couple of hours!

Autobots and Decepticons kicked off with the first clip on »Transformers: Rise of the Beasts«. No doubt that we can expect a fireworks full of special effects as usual. The CGI in the trailer looks very animated as we think. But meeting Optimus again will just be fun.

Marvel immediately caught up, actually with the first trailer on »Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3« - and even with another clip on »Ant-Man 3«, a Special Look for Brazil Comic Con.

The highlight though came from Lucasfilm - the preview on which we've all been excited for so much: Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny! Indy is back - and the first impression is fantastic! Turn up the volume real loud so the iconic theme sound can crawl under your skin. We are really looking forward to the movie year 2023!

 

If your favorite Christmas movie is »Die Hard«, we have just the right tip for going to the movies during the Advent season. Because today »Violent Night« starts with an incomparable David Harbor (Stranger Things) as bad ass, sledgehammer wielding Santa Claus.

When a group of mercenaries is attacking a wealthy family's estate, Santa must step in to save the day (and Christmas). The producers of »Nobody« and »Bullet Train" bring us plenty of over-the-top action, humor and the Christmas message wrapped up in Harbour's awesome one-liners.

The trailer really gets us excited about the film, and an IMDb rating of 8.0 and a critics' score of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes mean that we're going to have a lot of fun at the cinema. On that note, Ho Ho Ho.

There are collectibles which make it clear from the first sight: THIS will be a highlight! Exactly that's what happened in April 2021 when TWEETERHEAD announced the wonderful Teela Maquette as second character (after Hordak) within their »Masters of the Universe Legends« statues line.

One and a half years later, this fantastic conversion of the Heroic Warrior Goddess finally made its long journey from Eternia to the S.P.A.C.E Headquarters. We - and surely also many of you MOTU fans - have been expecting Teela with highest anticipation. She absolutely deserves to be our product of the month December 2022!

TWEETERHEAD again did a terrific job - we clearly have to underline this. And we are very excited who will be the next addition to this line after Mer-Man, Trap Jaw and Skeletor. For the moment, this is still a well protected secret of Castle Grayskull ...

Aren't these great times for fantasy series fans? There is hardly a streaming service that doesn't have something about fantasy in its program and takes us to magical medieval worlds - whether Amazon Prime Video with »The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power«, or HBOmax (WOW/Sky) with »House of the Dragon« or NETFLIX with »The Witcher«. The only thing missing is the right series for Disney+.

Was missing - becuuse today is the launch of »Willow«! The series brings us a reunion with Warwick Davis, who returns in the series format to his role as the wizard Willow Ufgood some 30 years after the events of the 1988 Willow film. In a nostalgic mood, we are looking forward to seeing the big little man again. Do you feel the same?

Last weekend, after the forced break caused by Covid, the Tokyo Comic Con took place with an audience for the first time - nothing extraordinary as far as our scouts could see. The usual mixture of international star guests, panels, exhibitions, dealers, artist alley and in the manga motherland, of course, lots and lots of cosplay for anime and manga heroes.

Regarding collectibles, we missed most of the usual suspects, except for the gigantic stand of PRIME 1 STUDIO. You can find a number of booth tours on You Tube. It's really impressive to see all of that in one place. But PRIME 1 already announced that in the first part of their »Next Level Showcase X« a couple of days ago.

By the way, if you haven't seen the fireworks of high-end collectibles premieres, you can either watch the almost 3 hours on the Prime 1 YouTube channel or sit back, relax, put on Pizzicato Five and wait for our new ABGESPACED episode. Because we also discussed the highlights from the first of three showcase sections. You will drool, because there were absolute delicacies again.

If you have no idea how you want to spend this evening, we have three recommendations for you. You have the joy of choice - cinema or sofa, film or series.

»Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery« is hitting cinemas today. The sequel to the box office success of Rian Johnson's »Knives Out« promises again amusing guesswork with Daniel Craig as master detective Benoit Blanc and a large squad of stars. Watching movies on the big screen is always a special treat. But if you're not a cinema visitor and have a little patience - the film will also be available on Netflix from December 23rd.

All Star Wars fans among you certainly have a date with »Andor« on Disney+. The exciting, very down-to-earth series celebrates the finale of the first season today. If you haven't watched it yet, this is our ultimate binging tip for the coming weekend.

Another well-regarded series starts today (logically on a Wednesday) on Netflix. We are of course talking about the Tim Burton series »Wednesday« with Jenna Ortega in the title role. We really liked the trailers and are accordingly curious.

The two Italian manufacturers Infinite Statue and Kaustic Plastik share a love for cinema and especially for the great film classics. The result of their fourth collaboration in the 1/6 figure series is very impressive: with their first Dracula figure, they set a worthy monument to Bela Lugosi. The 1931 Dracula film was Universal Studios' first horror talkie and marked the start of the first great horror wave.

Our vampire friend and film history expert Mick took a close look at the figure and, as expected, is very astonished about the iconic bloodsucker. So he wrote a detailed review to Bela Lugosi in the Action Figure District.

By the way: we remain loyal to Count Dracula, as we will soon be dedicating a detailed S.P.A.C.E Special to the films and collectibles. The release is planned before Christmas.

After 11 seasons, 12 years and 177 episodes, »The Walking Dead« has come to an end. We can only agree with the wish »Rest in Peace«, the title of the final episode.

The series made TV history in more ways than one. When the first episodes flickered across screens in 2010, we were in the era of weekly broadcast television. Every new episode was a small event back then and was discussed extensively in podcasts. We were also in The Walking Dead fever and tried not to miss a single episode. The series also raised the gore score quite a bit. It hadn't been seen on TV before and zombies had suddenly become mainstream.

The series was also a real booster looking at the collectibles scene. So Threezero brought a big 1:6 line which didn't really get off the ground at the beginning, but then gave us a whole range of exciting figures. TWD also ended the beauty sleep of the former action-figure top dog McFarlane Toys. While the company was still in danger of slipping into  the "undead" statue at the time, the license to the Walking Dead came at just the right moment and revitalized the toy company, which subsequently delighted many of us with action-figures and statues in different formats and new concepts such as the building sets. There were busts and statues from Gentle Giant, a whole army of Funko Pops, and also replicas like Michonne's katana or Lucille, Negan's infamous baseball bat.

But no hype lasts forever, and like other series before it, The Walking Dead eventually wore out. A changing TV landscape, in which streaming services largely replaced analogue television for many viewers, and an unprecedented range of exciting new series made it increasingly difficult for the Walking Dead. In addition, some script decisions did not find the undivided love of the fans. Our interest also crumbled visibly, to be honest.

Rick Grimes and Michonne also reported back for the finale. In 2023, they will get the joint spin-off series »The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne«. Whether the world needs another Walking Dead series is certainly debatable. But why not - die-hard fans will be delighted. Everyone else says REST IN PEACE.
