There's breaking news from the zombie apocalypse! According to Variety, the cult series THE WALKING DEAD will finally come to an end with season 11. Who could have expected that...

Well, almost everybody, somehow - because the buzz around all the Undeads and Survivors became pretty low lately, didn't it? But it will take a while until the very last episode will air in late 2022. And of course AMC is already after another spin-off series which will focus on Daryl Dixon und Carol Peletier. Well, who could have expected THAT? Also almost everybody, somehow ;)

But let's wait and see and think positive that the grand finale will be a worthy and epic one!
 

You surely are familiar with that... You're really excited for a long-awaited first trailer and you refresh the YouTube starting page every few minutes. And then it is finally the time :)

At about 6:20 p.m. Warner Bros. finally released the first trailer of DUNE online! It starts off cautiously, but then takes off to an epic broadside.

After a couple of repeat clicks we are still flashed and in the happy anticipation of a masterpiece by the outstanding film maker Denis Villeneuve. How did you like the trailer?

At the top of our highlight list of today's Trailer Tuesday is of course the new »Bond«. The November date is getting closer and we are noticing how much we have missed the cinema, even if we appreciate a good streaming offer. At Netflix we're able to make the acquaintance of Sherlock Holmes' little sister »Enola«, embodied by the charming Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), from 23.09..

When it comes to series, »Raised by Wolves« by Ridley Scott (Sky 16.09) and »The Haunting of Bly Manor« (Netflix 09.10.) by Mike Flanagan are at the top of our watch list.

»Marvel's Avengers« has not yet convinced us 100% among the games, but the superheroes are definitely worth a test. The locations in the Gamescom trailer for »Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One« also invite us to visit.

Tomorrow the eagerly awaited 2nd season of THE BOYS will finally start on Prime Video. What Amazon nobly describes as "even more intense" - and what the trailers already gave us an idea of - we can look forward to a wackier, crazier and even bloodier super- and antihero fun around Homelander and Billy Butcher. Surely many of you will have a great goggle marathon this weekend :o)

Just in time for the season opener, Amazon and Sony Pictures Consumer Products started negotiations for all licensing products. Among others (attention: surprise) FUNKO grabbed the rights - as well as GOOD SMILE, who will apparently bring vinyl figures. But the big hit is coming now: NECA has also gotten a license for THE BOYS and will delight us with a 7" action figure line! The designer team is probably already working hard on the prototypes. Unfortunately there is nothing to see yet, but the line will begin with »Homelander« and »Starlight«. How f***ing cool is that...?!

For our Product of the Month September 2020 we again used our Brazil connection to IRON STUDIOS. This time, our highlight though is not one of the popular Art Scale Statues in the 1:10 scale, but it's gonna be smaller and sweeter...

With their so called »MiniCo.« line also the desigers from Iron Studios brought their own "cutie-figures-series" to life. This means they are competing in this niche with their colleagues from Hot Toys, Beast Kingdom, Quantum Mechanix, Funko and many other brands. We actually didn't convice ourselves by the line, but rather by this one character in this particular version: Stan "The Man" Lee!

Absolutely a cult, mischievously turning 'round the corner and of course with a totally exaggerated mustache Stan is sitting on his director's chair and gives us his signature smile. Simply splendid! Excelsior!!

The vinyl figure is about 14cm tall and comes packed in a really ornate window-box. You can count on him being a true eye catcher on your shelf next to your Avengers movies...

Yesterday, round two of KOTOBUKIYA's very own »EXPO Summer 2020« took place - of course online, through a YouTube live stream. Already one week before that, they presented a mixture of their franchises Anime, My Little Pony, Bishoujo, Horror, Dead by Daylight and DC in the first run. Yesterday, they focused on the licenses Star Wars and Marvel.

Well... looking at the way of the presentation and also the quantity of the exclusive, never before shown product reveals, we think that Koto really could have set the bar a lot higher. Of course it was nice that they decided to do this online-alternative for SDCC, but if you look at what for example Sideshow did in comparison, we think that the performance from Kotobukiya was really thin.

But still there were a couple of novelties worth mentioninig, like for instance »Trapper« and »Hillbilly« from Dead by Daylight as non-scale PVC statues, a »Harley Quinn« from Birds of Prey in 1/6 ARTFX format, a new »Bishoujo Stargirl« (unfortunuately yet an unpainted prototype), a beautiful »Bishoujo Mera« aswell as a - also yet unpainted prototyp - »1/6 ARTFX Thor« from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Can you still remember that Thursday was always THE day for new blockbusters in the movies? ;)

Actually, it feels like an eternity ago - but today it's happening again: TENET, Christopher Nolan's latest movie, is officially released in German (and most European) cinemas - or at least in those that are not closed.

We wish everyone who has the opportunity and the desire to finally go to the cinema again a lot of fun with the film... AND - with a very special goodie, which Warner offers us on top: The first trailer for »Dune« is supposed to run exclusively on the big screen before every »Tenet« screening. One more reason to think about a ticket.

And - what did you like best, or even blew you away? In general, it's just a celebration to watch great trailers or behind-the-scenes material of new cinema blockbusters. We are totally happy!

Matching the first delivery of the ORIGINS there are special news from Eternia today, including a small review or conclusion in the video of MotUDad...

Already more than two months have passed that DC or actually Jim Lee himself invited fans worldwide to their first virtual DC event, the »DC FanDome«. Tomorrow is the day: the ultimate DC Fan Experience will kick off!

Originally this spectacular was set as one event over 24 hours (which was how they announced it in the first teaser clip). Because of the huge agenda and the pleasant anticipation of the fans, the DC crew decided on very short notice to make it a two-part event instead:

This Saturday, 22nd August, we all can be guests at the »Hall of Heroes«. We will be served - eventually in even 9 languages - a thrilling 8-hour program with a mix of panels and exclusive reveals on DC movies, TV series, games, comics and more. The show will air three times during the 24-hour period. Launch is 10 am PDT (American time) which equals Saturday evening 7 pm CET!

Three weeks later, so on 12th September, they will take us in round two, with the »DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse«. There we will have access to over 100 hours of on-demand-content! You can even schedule your personalized program through the official event-website DCFanDome.com - how cool is that?!

We are really excited about what DC will bring to everyone's screen or smartphone or tablet! Hopefully there will be some great new collectibles along - but as excuse we would of course also accept a teaser on THE BATMAN or THE SUICIDE SQUAD ;)

Our POP CON AT HOME or SDCC AT HOME is already almost 4 weeks behind. Of course many manufacturers and studios have used this happening to bring their news to all fans worldwide on their home screens.

The one or other brand that you would normally walk by on the showfloor in San Diego was missing at all the online events. So KOTOBUKIYA has now surprisingly announced its own little live streaming event - the »Kotobukiya Expo 2020 Summer«.

It will take place on the two upcoming Sundays (August 23rd and 30th) and the news and product reveals will be divided into thematic blocks. Details can be found in the announcement flyer. Let's hope that Koto will keep the streams online, because otherwise it would mean "setting the alarm clock to 3am" for us.

THE DEVIL ALL THE TIME
A Netflix prestige project based on the award-winning novel »The Devil all the Time« by Donald Ray Pollock. The well-known cast invites us to a sighting: i.a. Robert Pattinson, Sebastian Stan, Tom Holland, Bill Skarsgård and Mia Wasikowska. It will arrive on September 16th on Netflix.

THE OWNERS
The horror thriller starring Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) is based on the acclaimed graphic novel »Une Nuit de Pleine Lun« by Hermann and Yves H. The trailer for this cat and mouse game piqued our interest. Unfortunately there is no date for a German release yet.

AWAY
The sci-fi drama series with Oscar winner Hilary Swank focuses primarily on the human and family aspects of a Mars mission. We weren't quite convinced by the trailer yet, but we love Hilary Swank. So let's tune into Netflix on September 4th.

CYBERPUNK 2077 Gameplay Trailer
After this six minute gameplay trailer at the latest, we are all hooked on »Cyberpunk 2077«.

REMOTHERED: Broken Porcelain - Residents of Ashmann Inn
As is well known, we have a heart for atmospheric horror games. So it's no wonder that “Remothered: Broken Porcelain - Residents of Ashmann Inn” caught our attention. That might be something for our wish list to Santa.

It was to be feared that the Disney blockbuster MULAN, after its original start date in March, would rather not get a chance to appear on the big screen. Now it is clear that the film will be released directly on the in-house streaming service Disney+, on September 4.

Those who are already looking forward to it now, because they own a Disney+ subscription, will be a bit disillusioned right away. To get Mulan on TV you have to pay - probably - 30,- EUR for a so-called "Premier Access" (the amount in the USA is $29,99)! So if you want to get the cinema experience at home, you should share the costs with your family or friends - this way you get away cheaper than by visiting the theater. The movie can be watched as often as you want - provided you don't cancel your subscription, of course. ;)

The final trailer, which was released yesterday, makes it clear that the scenes on the TV at home will not be as powerful as they could be though. But from Disney's point of view it's completely understandable that somehow they still try to get at least a decent turnover with the blockbuster. Depending on how long the cinema business will continue to be on the back burner, we have to expect that there will be a comparable model for many movies.

The internal restructuring at WARNER BROS. group after the takeover by AT&T - probably due to the heavy losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic - is claiming its victims... According to media reports there will be about 650 layoffs! Many of them were responsible for the DC division, more precisely the subsidiary »DC Collectibles« or »DC Direct«, so that it can be assumed that the collectibles division of DC will actually have to close its doors after more than 22 years in the collector market.

This is of course extremely sad - first and foremost for the employees, but subsequently also for the loyal fans, collectors and enthusiasts of the company's in-house products. However, the whole thing was a bit predictable, as we think: in the last few months there were practically no more new announcements from DC, the distribution was completely shifted from Diamond to Sideshow and especially McFarlane Toys has put their foot down with the new DC Multiverse figures.

We regret this news very much, because we have always been big fans, especially of the DC statues. No matter if it was the »Bombshells« series, the always refreshing »Designer Series« or the partly wacky »Red, White & Black« Harley Quinn versions - all collector's items, which we always had on top of the radar and which were also located at fair prices. So let's keep our fingers crossed that Sideshow might at least continue the popular series or concepts of resin statues on their own under license from DC...

Today it's unbearably hot again... so on this Trailer Tuesday we dream ourselves into the darkness of a well air-conditioned cinema. Games, TV films and series will then hopefully appear at somewhat more moderate temperatures.

GET DUKED!
The trailer of this anarchic coming-of-age story against the backdrop of the Scottish Highlands has its moments. A British Amazon Prime Video production - no start date for Germany yet.

FOLLOW ME
The Corona crisis ensures that many smaller films, which otherwise would only have been released directly to DVD, come to the cinema. A chance for dirty little movies that would otherwise be drowned in the shadows of blockbusters - so maybe also for this little escape room horror.

I’M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS
A Charlie Kaufman film is always worth a "visit". The trailer promises us an interesting mind-fuck movie. Starting September 4th on Netflix.

Amazon is feeding our anticipation for the second season of the superhero series. On September 4th it will finally start!

RAISED BY WOLVES
The trailer for Ridley Scott's science fiction series on HBO Max is a real eye-catcher and whets the appetite for the series, which will certainly find its way into the SKY program here.

RATCHED
The series from the creators of »American Horror Story« tells the story of nurse Mildred Ratched (Sarah Paulson) from the novel/film »One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest«. The trailer definitely grabbed us! On Netflix from September 18th.

Brian Volk-Weiss, CEO and founder of the »Nacelle Company« and incidentally also one of the brains behind the popular NETFLIX series »The toys that made us«, has created a new documentary series called »A toy store near you« in the wake of the Corona crisis.

In each episode (and there are now five of them) the owners introduce their passionately owned toy store, the employees, some customers and of course the countless toys and collectibles. There is a lot to see, especially vintage toys. In addition, the shop owners give the audience a - sometimes very emotional - look behind the scenes and tell them about the challenges they are facing as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The easiest way to watch the episodes is to check out the Nacelle Company's YouTube channel. We can warmly recommend the whole thing to you, if only because of all the old toys that you will see in abundance :)

After teaming up with a veteran bounty hunter, the sixteen-year-old twin sisters Sterling and Blair plunge into the world of bail-out villains. It looks a bit cheesy, but we'll be testing the Netflix series, starting August 14th.

FARGO Season 4
Season 4 of Fargo starring Chris Rock takes us into the world of the Kansas City Mafia in the 1950s. The short trailer looks great already!
