Rise of Evil: Keldor & Kronis

With the »Rise of Evil« set (exclusively from Target in the USA), two absolute fan favorites that share such a moving story are released for the first time in an origins double pack.

The name »Keldor« first appeared in 1987 in the mini-comic »The Search for Keldor«. Here King Randor is searching his missing brother Keldor, who was a master sorcerer. One of his experiments went wrong and "he disappeared into a dimension outside of our time". With the help of the sorceress, the heroes want to start the search, because that night the veil between the dimensions is thin enough. Skeletor does everything possible to protect Keldor's secret, as this knowledge could be his end. He puts his latest monster fighters on the hero's neck and the mystery remained unsolved...

Keldor was never picked up in the 80s because of the end of the toyline. He only reappeared at 200X-times (cartoon by Mike Young Productions, comics and also as an action figure). Here it was immediately resolved in the first cartoon episode that Keldor is King Randor's half-brother, who wants to take power himself. A failed acid attack, which Randor was able to parry, burned Keldor's face. Hordak's magic turned Keldor into Skeletor! Keldor appeared as an action figure in 2003 in the 200X toyline as San Diego Comic Con and Wizard World Con Exclusive (limited to 3000 pieces), in addition 500 copies were sold through He-Man.org.

»Kronis«, the former identity of Trap Jaw, also appeared in the 200X cartoon, but we learn its story in detail in the 200X comic, »Icons of Evil: Trap Jaw«, which appeared in September 2003 in the USA. It tells how Kronis turns away from Keldor immediately after the change to Skeletor and sets up his own huge army in the Hemisphere of Shadows. With this he goes to battle against Skeletor and there is a decisive battle between the Lord of Evil and Kronis, which he loses dramatically with the loss of his jaw and an arm. Impressed by Kroni's army and combat strength, Skeletor interprets his last rearing as a beg for mercy. Tri-Klops patches Kronis back together, who now serves as Trap Jaw under Skeletor, until one day there may be an opportunity for revenge.

Kronis never had its own action figure. The MotUC-Trap Jaw was released in February 2010 with an interchangeable head and an exchangeable arm in order to be able to replicate Kronis.
