Product description
A man alone with his vision – Everart Studio, an Italian manufacturer, opens its first collection, »Masters of Madness«, with the man who created cosmic horror: Howard Phillips Lovecraft (1890–1937). The writer published almost exclusively in pulp magazines like »Weird Tales« during his lifetime, earned next to nothing, and died impoverished at just 46 – yet the mythology he created around Cthulhu, the Great Old Ones, and the town of Arkham permeates popular culture to this day. His cosmic horror cast neither a single monster, humanity, nor a haunted house as the threat, but the indifferent, infinite universe itself.
This is exactly what the statue captures: Lovecraft, alone with his paranoia and his work, creating a world, a mythology, that the world would not discover until after his death. The roughly 42 cm tall, 1/10 scale figure is made of hand-painted polystone and limited to 100 pieces worldwide – produced in two runs of 50, each numbered and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Everart Studio deliberately builds on public-domain subjects rather than licensed properties, putting the story before the object with every figure. The »Masters of Madness« collection is devoted to the great masters of horror and gothic literature, crafted with exceptional attention to detail and narrative precision. The first chapter belongs to Lovecraft, Cthulhu, and the Necronomicon!
