After the nightmare on LV-426, Ellen Ripley believes she has finally put the horror behind her. However, the Alien Queen reappears aboard the USS Sulaco. Lacking heavy pulse rifles, Ripley turns to the ship's industrial equipment and confronts the Queen in the Caterpillar P-5000 Work Loader. To mark the 40th anniversary of the science-fiction classic ťAliensŤ, Hot Toys is releasing a 1:6 scale set featuring Ellen Ripley – portrayed by Sigourney Weaver – and the Power Loader.
The Ellen Ripley figure features a newly crafted head sculpt with separately movable eyes and enhanced blood effects that reflect her battle-worn state. The upper body is made of silicone and features seamless shoulders and arms. Ripley wears a torn, distressed white T-shirt over a gray tank top, a grenade bandolier, a wristwatch, and weathered light blue-gray trousers. She also wears a pair of distressed Reebok Alien Stompers.
The depiction of her right shoe is particularly detailed: a dark gray sock can be used instead of the right Reebok Alien Stomper, allowing for the recreation of the moment Ripley loses her shoe and it is ejected through the airlock into space. A figure stand with a metal-grate-style base completes the set.
Standing approximately 52 cm tall, the Power Loader features over 18 points of articulation. Movable mechanical arms, legs, and gripping claws, sliding joysticks, an opening protective cage, and functional seat harnesses allow for a wide range of poses. USB-powered LED lights on the overhead warning light and inside the protective cage round out the features.
The Power Loader is designed to accommodate the Ellen Ripley figure directly within the cockpit. Combined with the separately available
Alien Queen, it allows for the recreation of the final battle from ťAliensŤ.
