Wampa Designer Collectible Statue

This Wampa designer vinyl figure from Sideshow is inspired by »Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back«. Its design draws on the characteristically exaggerated style of artist James Groman, blending the snow monster's distinctive appearance with unusual proportions and narrative elements.

Measuring approximately 44.5 cm in width, 30.5 cm in height, and 20.3 cm in depth, the Wampa has disproportionately large shoulders, massive paws, and long, sharply curved claws. In one hand, it clutches the skull and spine of a Tauntaun – bones stripped clean by its many teeth. This detail highlights the Wampa's predatory nature and serves as a striking element of the scene.

Crafted entirely from vinyl, the figure features layers of off-white fur. Its exaggerated proportions and bold forms reflect James Groman’s signature designer-toy style, giving the Wampa a distinctive aesthetic.

Sculptor Steve Schumacher translated Groman’s detailed designs into a three-dimensional figure, while Chie Izuma handled the paintwork. Varied tones and shading accentuate the fur texture and underscore the Wampa’s ferocious appearance.
