Galadriel - Dark Queen Statue

Wētā Workshop has created a 1:6 scale statue of Galadriel in her "Dark Queen" form, as seen in »The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring«. When Frodo offers her the One Ring, the usually gentle Lady of Lothlórien is momentarily seized by its power, appearing as a striking vision of a queen who is both mighty and terrifying.

The dynamic composition captures this iconic moment: Galadriel’s robes appear caught in the Ring’s influence, swirling around her body in numerous individual folds of fabric. To create the prototype, Lead Sculptor Brigitte Wuest initially sculpted the pose and clothing traditionally in clay. A total of 50 separate fabric folds were built up over a small armature made of spring steel and aluminum mesh, then intricately textured.
